| I am sooo happy I didn't pay $400 to have a technician come out and replace the lamp in our Sony flat screen. This was so super easy to replace that I couldn't believe it!!! The directions are not included with the lamp, but they were in my owner's manual. I started to laugh when I took the front tv panels off. I paid the best price around(it's $200 most places), the shipping was fast, and most importantly, the lamp was in perfect condition when it arrived. Never buy a lamp warranty policy on a new tv!! We paid $200, never used it for 3 years, it expired, and now we had to buy a new lamp-good price, but we're still out an extra $140. Plus I found out the lamp policy would have only covered a lamp and I still would have had to install it myself. What a rip-off!! |

As Sylvie said above, this was really easy. Just need an Allen wrench and about 5 minutes.
The bulb in our t.v. had dimmed slowly over the last few months evidently and the brightness difference was almost shocking to me afterward. lol
I ordered from Amazon Partner River Valley Electronics and paid for expidited shipping yesterday and the bulb was delivered today. Stunning shipping/handling imop. Price was good too. |

| I dunno how much of a review I can give about a replacement TV bulb but ill try. My Sony vvega 55in TV was starting to shut down the picture and sound for 10-30sec a few times a day and was slowly getting worse. I had already once had to replace the bulb a few years back so I knew what was going on. After installing the new bulb my wife and I were able to see a noticeable difference in the picture quality and the brightness of the screen. Once installing the new bulb, all the previous problems went away and there has been none since. |

| Although I was bummed that my original bulb crapped out in just under 4 years my 55" Sony Grand Wega was on all the time and it get ten years of use in those 4. I was shocked at how easy it was to resolve. Sony wanted to send a tech then bill for labor and parts, was going to cost close to five hundred dollars. I purchased the Sony XL 2200 replacement from River Valley Electronics via Amazon.com for $125.00 including the shipping. Item arrived early and in pristine condition. I was able to remove the old lamp and install the replacement in under 10 minutes. Awesome, My t.v. picture is like new. It took me longer to move all my electronics and audio components than it did for me to replace the bulb. Anyone can do it and I saved hundreds over calling a tech. Item was 179.00 on Sony's website and was back ordered. I ordered, received , and installed in 1 week and saved 50 bucks over ordering direct from Sony and did not have to wait for back order, and to top it off I did not have to pay for a service tech. If you have and older HD rear projection t.v and the picture goes on you. don't discard, spend a hundred dollars buy a new bulb and its like getting the t.v brand new again. |
